As Chief Product Officer, Schweitzer oversees the strategic development of the Silverchair Platform, as well as directing product marketing and communications. Responsible for the Silverchair Platform development plan; Silverchair’s Publisher Working Groups; ‘Platform Strategies,’ the industry meeting for senior technology and publishing leaders; and the Silverchair Universe, the widening network of integrations and collaborations with partners, Schweitzer’s remit is to serve and anticipate the platform needs of independent and society publishers.
Schweitzer’s appointment, and that of Hannah Heckner (Product Strategist, who joined earlier this year), puts ‘Product’ at the heart of Silverchair’s strategy to support the independent publishing sector in research and scholarly publishing.
Schweitzer joined Silverchair in February 2019 in the role of SVP of Product Management. An experienced scholarly publisher himself, Schweitzer came to Silverchair after nearly 20 years with academic, scholarly, and professional publishing organizations including AAAS/Science Magazine, SAGE, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, and the American Psychological Association.
