Portland Press manages more than 5,000 manuscript submissions annually across five journals and a society magazine and will migrate its peer review workflows from eJournalPress to ScholarOne Manuscripts. The partnership deepens the existing relationship, which began in 2018 when Portland Press selected the Silverchair Platform to host their journals, making this a natural extension of a shared technology foundation.
ScholarOne Manuscripts is trusted by more than 650 publishers across 9,000-plus journal sites worldwide. Silverchair's investment in ScholarOne Manuscripts has brought sustained improvements to workflows, user experience, and the platform's underlying architecture, alongside a growing network of integrations with specialized partners.
The implementation will include ScholarOne Gateway, the next-generation unified dashboard that gives authors and editorial teams a centralized, mobile-responsive view of manuscripts across all journals in a portfolio — with single sign-on, real-time status visibility, and personalized action queues. Portland Press will also become part of the wider ScholarOne client community — including events and communications programming that earned an EPIC Award from the Society of Scholarly Publishing earlier this year.
As Portland Press’s existing hosting provider, Silverchair brings an additional layer of coordination. With direct visibility across both the submission infrastructure and the hosting platform, enabling tighter integration and a single point of accountability for support.
