The foundation first
Some of our most important recent work isn't visible in any feature list. We've been making targeted infrastructure improvements and defect fixes that make the platform more stable and reliable, particularly during the high-volume windows that matter most, like submission deadlines and review cycles. This kind of work doesn't make for a dramatic announcement, but it's what earns the right to build what comes next.Client-Specific Integration Work
Separately, our team continues to deliver custom single sign-on (SSO) and integrations for individual client sites. This work is scoped and scheduled per client, so if you have an integration project or custom dev you’d like to consider, please contact your Implementation Consultant.Coming Soon: Edit Co-Authors Before Submission
One of the most requested fixes by authors is close to release: the ability for submitters to edit co-author information before submission, rather than needing to ask Site Admin Staff to correct it after the fact. This will cut down on cases to your meeting staff team and increases the speed at which authors can submit their abstracts with correct information.AI Program Builder: now in beta
One of the most time-consuming things a program committee does is building the conference program itself: evaluating abstracts, grouping sessions thematically, sequencing everything into a coherent schedule. The AI Program Builder is designed to take on the structural complexity of that process, so committees can focus on the judgment calls that require human expertise — the editorial decisions, the speaker considerations, the priorities that only you understand. We're currently in beta with a select group of clients, and we'll be sharing more about the broader rollout in the months ahead.
AI Duplicate Detector: now in discovery
Conference integrity is important to the success of a conference and enduring materials. The existing Duplicate Detector searches for matching titles based on a percentage. While valuable, there are additional data points to find other potential duplicate signals, including authors, institutions, and abstract content. The ScholarOne Conferences team is testing an AI enhanced version of the duplicate detector that will provide a more comprehensive review of submissions than what is currently available. An enhanced duplicate detector is an additional safeguard protecting your conference content.Session Center redesign: in active discovery and planning
We're in discovery and planning a modernized Session Center experience. Our team has been working through user stories and design mockups to ensure the new interface isn't just visually updated, but genuinely easier to use for administrators and sessioners alike. This is a phased effort. We expect to begin delivering in 2027, and we'll communicate milestones as we hit them. What's coming in the second half of 2026
Our focus for H2 is on closing date / time modified gaps with our event pilot integration, for those of you who leverage the Event Pilot mobile app this will ensure any late breaking changes in the ScholarOne Conferences platform are reflected as quickly as possible in the on-site mobile app.As always, in addition to the big value adds, we continue to focus on targeted improvements to reduce clicks and save you time. Things like:
- Adding Presenter Email to Abstract search criteria. This saves an admin from having to search for the person first when the only information available is an email address.
- Saved filtered views are not appearing by default, and they should. This saves an admin from having to reset filters to see the data needed to complete tasks as quickly as possible.
- In some case the statistics report in the Submission area of the Admin Center isn't sorted in Alpha order. Who wants to copy paste into excel to sort when you can view the data in an ordered fashion directly in the application?
- The calendar in the Role Scheduler allows for scheduling beyond 2026, but the date picker ends at 2026. This saves admins time and clicks by making the clicker functional into the future.
- Remote Lookup search does not handle spaces in a first or last name which causes needless search failures resulting in additional work on the part of the admin.
A note on how we're building
We're making deliberate choices about sequencing: foundational stability before new features, user research before redesigns, phased delivery before large launches. That approach takes longer to show up in a feature list, but it's how we build things that hold up under the conditions you're working in.As always, your feedback shapes what we prioritize. If something we've described isn't solving the right problem for your team, or if you have questions about timeline or rollout, reach out directly at [email protected].
In addition, don’t forget to take advantage of the Resource Center in the admin tab (the ? icon on the lower right hand side) which contains release information, a support contact link as well as an ideas platform where you can submit your product suggestions. We always appreciate your input and feedback!
