(Charlottesville, VA and New York, NY) October 6, 2017 – Silverchair Information Systems and The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) announce the launch of two new journals on the Silverchair Platform.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)

The first, the Journal of Engineering and Science in Medical Diagnostics and Therapy (JESMDT) is a unique publishing forum for the international community of engineers, scientists and medical researchers with a shared vision to use knowledge from mechanical engineering as well as other engineering and scientific disciplines to accelerate biomedical innovation, trial and commercialization. This journal is essential to how engineering and scientific knowledge facilitates healthcare solutions for a growing and aging worldwide population.

The second, the Journal of Nondestructive Evaluation, Diagnostics and Prognostics of Engineering Systems (JNDE), will cover the many aspects of interdisciplinary work in the field of Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). This will address the need for an archival international journal that will inform readers of state-of-the art developments in NDE, disseminate new ideas on these subjects, and report related valuable applications in industry, government and academia.

Known and respected throughout the world for setting standards and certification for various industries, ASME also conducts one of the world's largest technical publishing operations, holds technical conferences and hundreds of professional development courses each year, and sponsors outreach and educational programs.

“We are delighted to collaborate with ASME as they continue to grow and enhance the ASME Digital Collection,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “Silverchair’s flexible, natively semantic platform will benefit the journals’ readers by enhancing discoverability, surfacing topically related content on article pages, search, and topic collections. Silverchair in turn benefits from the unwaveringly high quality of content that ASME publishes.”

“Both these new ASME titles went from concept to proposal to reality in record speed. I have many participants to thank for their competence and agility, particularly Silverchair for their ongoing and close collaboration,” said Philip DiVietro, Managing Director, Publishing, ASME.
