(Charlottesville, VA and Aliso Viejo, CA) November 22, 2019 – The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and Silverchair announced today the launch of AACN’s peer-reviewed journals on the Silverchair Platform.

AACN publishes three scholarly titles that focus on nursing research and practice: American Journal of Critical Care, Critical Care Nurse, and AACN Advanced Critical Care. These award-winning journals present evidence-based clinical and research information and capture the latest in acute and critical care nursing.

“We are proud to support AACN in their efforts to provide acute and critical care nurses with the important information they need to provide the best care for patients and families,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “The launch of AACN’s new journal sites on the Silverchair Platform provides online journal readers with an enhanced experience and a seamless user interface while allowing AACN the flexibility to continue to optimize for future needs of their community.”

Among the features of the new journal sites are a sleek, modern interface that matches the design and layout of AACN’s association website; enhanced search capabilities, including autosuggest across all three journal sites; split-screen view for simplified reading of tables, figures, references, and related links; and single sign-on for AACN members accessing these periodicals.

“After months of collaboration behind the scenes, AACN is excited to bring a world-class online experience to the readers of our journals,” said Herb Williams-Dalgart, AACN’s Learning Excellence Director. “Our commitment to our members, readers, and other constituents in acute and critical care research and practice is well served by our partnership with Silverchair as an innovator in the field of scholarly publishing. The new platform enables continued enhancements and new features for online readers in the months and years to come.”
