Silverchair is an industry leader in developing publishing platforms
specifically for the health care industry. We work with the most prestigious
organizations in medicine, including the New England Journal of Medicine, the
American Heart Association, and the National Institutes of Health, to name a

We are pioneers in the design and creation of a semantic
layer in health care databases, and have built 4 major platforms designed to exploit semantic-rich data
and create advances in discoverability, contextual linking, and targeted content
delivery for consumers of professional health content. Some call the Semantic
Web "Web 3.0"-but we've been applying its concepts since

Quality Assistant
Do you have strong attention to
detail, a good command of grammar and computer
skills? Would you like the opportunity to develop
skills in proofreading, Web quality assurance, and
project management? If you answered yes, you could
be the next member of a quality assurance team that
produces a high volume of medical information for
print and web publication. Job description also
includes learning and implementing the basics of Web
delivery of medical information. Publications
experience and knowledge of HTML or XML are pluses.
The ability to focus while managing diverse tasks is
essential.
Medical Indexer
Silverchair seeks a
medical indexer to
develop UMLS-compliant
metadata for our
online products. Our
products contain
high-quality medical
content owned by
respected medical
publishers,
societies, and
academic
institutions; our
metadata allows the
delivery of highly
accurate and
complete search
results and a high
level of
interoperability.
Our headquarters are
in Charlottesville,
Virginia, but
working offsite is
an option for the
right candidate. At
least 2 years'
experience indexing
or cataloging
medical content
required.
