07 January

(Charlottesville, VA) January 7, 2014 - Silverchair Information Systems announced today that the Silverchair Platform recently received verification of COUNTER 4 compliance for their full suite of publication usage reports. Leveraging the strengths of the recently released Silvermine Business Intelligence platform extension, Silverchair now supplies all institutional customers with COUNTER 4 compliant usage reports for industry-credible statistics.

The latest release of the COUNTER Code of Practice for e-Resources by Project COUNTER (Counting Online Usage of Networked Electronic Resources) sets the standards for the recording and reporting of online usage statistics to ensure data is consistent and credible throughout the entire industry. The fourth release, which was developed using input from vendors, librarians, and intermediaries, is a single, integrated Code of Practice for journals, databases, books, and multimedia content.

“As big data analysis continues to develop, industry standards like COUNTER become increasingly important for supporting accurate content statistics,” said Forrest Swope, Director of Platform Development at Silverchair. “We are proud to provide our clients with the continued assurance of COUNTER compliance for usage reports in order to ensure that their customers make effective content decisions for their institutional needs.”
