American Pharmacists Association announces all new JAPhA

(Arlington, VA/Charlottesville, VA) March 27, 2012—American Pharmacists Association (APhA) today launched the next generation of the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA) on SCM6, the natively semantic online hosting platform from Silverchair Information Systems (Silverchair).

“We are delighted to expand our relationship with Silverchair,” said APhA Senior Vice President, Karen Tracy. “After developing PharmacyLibrary with Silverchair we decided to bring JAPhA to the SCM6 platform. The new JAPhA further integrates our publications portfolio by using semantic enrichment to surface deep content relationships, populate topic collections, and providing our readers with time-saving tools and a better user experience.”

JAPhA is the official peer-reviewed journal of the American Pharmacists Association, providing information on pharmaceutical care, drug therapy, diseases and other health issues, trends in pharmacy practice and therapeutics, informed opinion, and original research. The transition to SCM6 brings a number of improvements to JAPhA and enables the APhA to optimize its information delivery for its audiences, from students to practicing pharmacists.

“We’re very excited to kick off Silverchair’s busy schedule of spring releases with the launch of JAPhA,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “JAPhA.org is an ideal complement to the APhA’s suite of learning tools which includes PharmacyLibrary. We are at our best when collaborating with an organization dedicated to meeting the needs of its diverse audience, and pleased that our technology provides the agile product development environment required for their continued innovation.”
